Active Rain Running Challenge

Last year I was a PE teacher, football coach, wrestling coach, and basketball coach at a junior high and working out every day with the kids, running, lifting weights, and playing games. In June '07, I left my teaching career of 13 years for a career in real estate.

Now I notice a change in my ....uh, figure.... let's just say I'm not as fit as I used to be. It's time for that to change. I hear the best way to make a goal is to write it down and announce it to the world. So, here it goes:

Runner

My goal is to run a minimum of 3 days a week for at least 20 minutes a run.

It seems I start every week with full intentions of carrying out this routine, but like a New Year's Resolution it gets buried quickly.  You know how emails, appointments, client fires, work, and family obligations cause you to lose focus on treating your body right?

NO MORE - I say! Who would like to join me in the Active Rain Running Challenge? The more the merrier!

Just comment - I commit to running 3 days a week for 20 minutes a time, then blog your run, share how you feel or just be darn happy with yourself cause you are adding years to your life.

Let's do it!

Puyallup Relay For Life

In two more weeks, our office will be participating in Relay for Life to raise money for the fight against cancer. Being this is my first relay for life, I'm not quite sure what to expect. What I do know is that I'm participating for a number of reasons, one of them being for my friend.

My buddy was diagnosed with cancer in January and  has been on a heavy regimen of chemo the past few months. His strength is drained and emotionally it has been a struggle. On top of that, he and his wife just had their third child in February - right in the midst of all this.

This disease has to go. There's got to be a cure out there and with the right funding and lots of prayer, I believe the cure will be found.

It's time to do my small part to irradicate this disease. On June 20th - 21st our team will be there. As I walk, I'll carry with my a prayer card with names of those battling this disease and families who have suffered the loss of loved ones. If you have someone you would like added to my prayer card, please let me know. You can also donate to our team at www.solinskyRFL.com Thank you for your support.
